Founders Day Keynote Historical Lecture

Linda Eisenmann ’75 P’03’07, professor of history and provost at Wheaton College, brings to life the history of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» – its founding and key milestones – and its place in the history of higher education.

Ceremonial Ringing of Harkness Chapel Bell
2:15-2:30 p.m.
The historic Harkness Chapel Bell, inscribed “Great is truth and mighty above all things,” rings 100 times in honor of the College’s Centennial.
Centennial Photograph
2:15-2:45 p.m.
The College community – everyone who can be there – gathered for a group photograph. The goal: capture a commemorative photograph of the community posed in the shape of the number "100."

Centennial Founders Day Tea/Birthday Party
3-5 p.m.
Celebrating the College’s 100th birthday and tradition of academic excellence – emeriti faculty were special guests. Brief remarks by President Lee Higdon and Trustee Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»ie Gemmer ’80 P’10. Performance by student improv group N2O. Chamber Choir debuted the new Centennial Song!

Centennial Founders Day Dinner
5-8 p.m.
Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» students and other members of the community joined for this celebratory dinner featuring a special menu, festive decorations and birthday cake.

Great Beginnings Centennial Concert: Shake the Baron
8-9:30 p.m.
Shake the Baron, “The most rowdy, floor-stomping songsmiths ever to emerge from Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»ecticut,” featured guitarist/vocalist Andrew Oedel ’10, drummer Matt Addison ’10, bassist Max Currier ’10 and guitarist Jon Markson ’12.
